The earliest photo of Agnes with her brother John and mother Elizabeth 1905?
Agnes married James Glendinning, a miner, in 1924.
She was described as a nurse and may have worked at the Glenafton Sanatorium in New Cumnock which treated tuberculosis.

As happened in many Scottish families, the youngest daughter often remained with the parents and raised her children in the family home. Agnes would have been heavily involved with the family Home Bakery business with the children being looked after by the grandparents.
The family home at Mansfield Terrace was big enough and could also accommodate a lodger to help in the upkeep.
Agnes and friends and family at one of the Purveys. The sign above the home bakery shop said ‘Purveys a Speciality’. This involved providing the food, cutlery and service at a wedding or celebration in the Town Hall or Community Centre.
