Christina Martin Stewart 1894-1968

An early photo of Christina.

I have no information of where she worked after leaving school but her marriage certificate gives her profession as a domestic servant.

She later worked as a housekeeper and was involved in setting up the home bakery at 75 Castle along with her sister Agnes.  She had sufficient funds that enabled her to buy the part of the building that the bakery was housed.  This was around 1930 and the business flourished until sister Agnes retired in December 1980.

Christina married David Morrison in 1917

Christina when she worked as a housekeeper for Farmer John McFadzean  near Hurlford, Kilmarnock.  Her mother Elizabeth or Lizzie Stewart lending a hand.

Christina joined Agnes, Hawthorn and Peggy for a reunion when Peggy returned on holiday from Australia.  Circa 1960

L to R Back: Peggy, Agnes, Christina.

The family photograph of James B Stewart(1883-1916) and his wife Elizabeth Brown has one or two unconfirmed individuals.  The photo was taken around 1912.  The young girl standing second from the left, next to Elizabeth would be the age of Christina at that time.
